Fundación River Plate and BBVA held a new edition of the Escuela de Formadores (Coaches’ Training School) in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca. With the participation of more than 100 coaches, trainers, and leaders from clubs and social organizations, and declared of educational interest by the Ministry of Education, the event took place over two full days at the Polideportivo Fray M. Esquiu. These sessions aimed to train those who train others and encourage social integration by providing training to sports and social leaders, who face the challenge of motivating and educating children, youth, and adults on a daily basis.
The opening ceremony was attended by Guillermo Perna, Secretary of Sports of Catamarca; Lucía de la Vega, Director of Fundación River Plate; María Martha Deleonardis, Principal Manager of Responsible Business at BBVA Argentina; and Mariano Royón, Branch Manager of BBVA’s Catamarca Branch 266.
During the opening, Lucía de la Vega stated: “For us, every time we see a ball, we see an opportunity to educate. We invite everyone to use this space to reflect and grow because everyone here plays an important role in their community and is driving change for so many children.”
“Being in Catamarca alongside Fundación River brought us great satisfaction. The strong interest in the training shown by all participants and local authorities once again highlights the importance of our partnership and how, through sports, we can foster social integration and create new and better opportunities,” said María Martha Deleonardis, Principal Manager of Responsible Business at BBVA in Argentina.
During the sessions, topics based on Fundación River Plate’s methodology were addressed, including “Football and Pedagogy,” “The Coach as a Leader,” “Organizing for Training,” “Sports Psychology,” “What to Train?” and “Training Methodology.”
For its part, BBVA conducted a workshop on “Financial Education for Neighborhood Clubs and Social Organizations” and presented the Financial Education Platform, which is free and publicly accessible. The goal is to help participants gain knowledge related to management and finance, which they can apply in their clubs and social organizations.
