River Plate Foundation and Adidas Announce Finalists and Open the Public Voting Platform for the Reward

The River Plate Foundation and Adidas announced the 3 finalists for the Foundation River Plate-Adidas award, a competition that recognizes local clubs from around the country. The public can now vote at fundacionriver.org.ar/premio starting at 12 PM on Thursday, September 26 until 12 PM on Monday, September 30.

In this final stage, the public will determine the first, second, and third-place winners among the finalist clubs. The first-place winner will receive a prize of $8.000.000 pesos ARG, the second-place winner $2.000.000 pesos ARG, and the third-place winner $1.000.000 pesos ARG. Additionally, all three finalists will receive comprehensive support from the Foundation and Adidas for a year, with the objective being that they participate in workshops and training to strengthen their institutions.

The call for entry sought to highlight and strengthen the work of the neighborhood clubs, recognizing their significant social impact on their communities. After the application process, the three finalist projects were selected by a distinguished jury, which this year included: Jorge Brito, president of Club River Plate; Pablo Lamo, president of Adidas Argentina; Leonardo Ponzio, sports secretary of CARP; Martin Gimenez Rebora, manager of Resource Mobilization – focal point for sports at UNICEF Argentina, and Soledad Pereyra, the leading member of the board of directors of Club Calaguala, a finalist in the 2023 edition of the Award.

“The neighborhood club is an opportunity to reach more girls and boys, which is why this award we carry out with Adidas is very special and important. It gives us the possibility to reach more places, new communities, and to highlight the work of clubs throughout the country. For us, their work is fundamental because they are a great community cell that sustains the social fabric of our country. That is why this award seeks to accompany and strengthen the work of all those people who stand out for educating and transforming lives through sports,” said Lucía de la Vega, director of the River Plate Foundation.

“Community clubs play a key role in society in general and in their closest communities. With the Award from the River Plate Foundation and Adidas, we continue to support all those volunteers who work hard every day to change people’s lives. It is difficult to choose one of the hundreds of projects presented this year. We hope that people will join the voting because we believe it is the best way to determine the podium of the three finalists. We want people to know that their vote can also change a reality or fulfill a dream; the dream of a locker room, a multipurpose room, or a new football field,” said Santiago Moreno Hueyo, director of Public Affairs at Adidas Argentina.
