As part of the River Plate vs. Instituto match in the Professional League, Fundación River Plate carried out a new edition of “Sin Fronteras” in Córdoba. This program aims to promote unity and support the work of neighborhood clubs and social organizations that use soccer as a social tool. On this occasion, the event took place at Escuela (School) Estados Unidos, which serves children from the Observatorio and La Cañada neighborhoods.
Representing Club Atlético River Plate at this charitable event were Ignacio Amui, treasurer; Leonardo Ponzio; and Clara D’Onofrio, president of Fundación River Plate.
“It is very important for families to support and accompany their children so they can learn, study, and achieve their dreams. In football, as in life, you can win or lose; what matters is to keep going and keep trying,” explained Ponzio.
To conclude, Clara D’Onofrio added: “For Fundación, it is very meaningful and important to visit different schools and clubs. It allows us to provide support so that you have a space that benefits and aids in your development.”
During the event, donations of sports equipment were given to contribute to the school’s activities. These included balls, cones, coordination ladders, and minibuses. Additionally, raffles were held, offering prizes such as jerseys, caps, sportswear, balls, and more.
Escuela Estados Unidos is located in the Paso de los Andes neighborhood in the city of Córdoba. However, the local population of the neighborhood does not attend this school; instead, it primarily serves students from the Observatorio and La Cañada neighborhoods. The school hosts around 100 students, mainly children, including a large number of girls and boys with disabilities, making it an inclusive school.
